Some of the popular attractions that the residents of Lakeland enjoy include the annual SUN ‘n FUN Fly-In, an air show for the flight enthusiast in us all. For the art fans, Lakeland is home to Florida Southern College, where you will find the largest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright’s architecture. There is also the Polk Museum of Art, which has over 2,500 pieces of art, including student art. For those who enjoy the outdoors, Lakeland is home to many outdoor parks and recreation centers. There is even a bike trail named the Lake-To-Lakes Trail that goes from Lake Parker through Downtown Lakeland and ends at Lake John. If you are a sports fan, then you are in luck! The Joker Marchant Stadium is the spring training home for Major League Baseball’s Detroit Tigers. Lakeland is also a short drive from other sports teams including the Tampa Bay Lightning, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The city of Lakeland has a wonderful school district with a total of 34 Elementary Schools, 18 Middle Schools, and 15 High Schools.

According to Greatschools, Lincoln Avenue Academy is the highest rated elementary school, scoring 10 out of 10. The top middle school is Lawton Chiles Middle School, with a rating of 10 out of 10. For high schools, Lakeland High School is the highest rated high school in the area.
