Brandon is located east of Tampa, and is right in the middle of four major highways, making Brandon easily accessible from any area in Florida. The most prominent highway is the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway, which provides a direct route to MacDill Air Force Base, as well as Downtown Tampa. Brandon is also only approximately 30 minutes away from Tampa International Airport, an hour from the Gulf Coast beaches, and about 90 minutes from Orlando.
Although such major amenities are only a short drive away, many residents of Brandon enjoy the many comforts that the city itself has to offer including parks, malls, restaurants, and much more.
Culture & Entertainment in Brandon
As a major area near Tampa, the residents of Brandon have access to family-friendly entertainment such as Busch Gardens and Adventure Island, as well as the world famous Lowry Park Zoo and The Florida Aquarium. Also, considering Orlando is only a 90-minute drive, Brandon residents can enjoy Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and Sea World.
For fans of festivals, two of most popular fairs in North America take place nearby; The Blueberry Festival and The Hillsborough County Fair. If you prefer carnivals, November fest hosted by Nativity Catholic Church has been entertaining families for over 40 years. There is also The Spring Jubilee; a 13-year-old carnival brought to residents of Brandon by St. Stephen Catholic Church. In addition, Gasparilla Pirate Fest, Tampa’s annual pirate celebration, is a major party with parades, fireworks, and much more.
If you prefer the outdoors, the city of Brandon is home to Davis Park, where you will find picnic space, basketball courts, and biking/pedestrian trails. There is also All Persons Rotary Park, which has play areas for people of all kinds, with wheelchair access and soft areas to play. Southeast of Brandon is Lithia Springs, a 160-acre park with a natural spring, playground, and available camping. Also in Lithia is the Alafia River State Park, a 6000-acre park with over 20 lakes, as well multiple bike and equestrian trails. There is even a campground with water and electricity!
For those who love to shop, Brandon has plenty of shopping centers such as Park Square at Fish Hawk, Regency Square, and Winthrop Town Center. The most popular shopping center in the Brandon area is West field Brandon, which houses approximately 175 stores and boutiques.

In the city of Brandon, there is a multitude of restaurants to choose from, all with different delicacies, and diverse menus. According to Yelp, the top rated restaurant in the area is South Pacific Grill, known for their Hawaiian-Asian fusion menu, with the star dish being the HuliHuli chicken. Another Brandon standout is Thai X-Press Café, famous for their pineapple fried rice and pumpkin curry.
